CLICK IT OR TICKET 2007

Click It or Ticket
is a high visibility enforcement and public awareness campaign aimed at saving lives by increasing the number of Delawareans who regularly buckle up. The only goal of Click It or Ticket is to save lives. Click It or Ticket will run from May 13th through May 31st with high visibility enforcement occurring between May 13th through the 28th. The Office of Highway Safety will begin two weeks of statewide seat belt use surveys on June 4th to determine increases in belt use. Click It Or Ticket has been a success raising seat belt use in Delaware from 67% in 2001 to an all time high of 86% in 2006! Yet still,1 in 6 Delawareans regularly fails to buckle up.So we need your help. Remind your friends and loved ones about Delaware’s seat belt law. All drivers and passengers – yes even those in the back seat – are required to wear a seat belt. An officer can pull you over if he sees you or any passenger is not wearing one. As the driver you’re responsible for making sure everyone is properly secured so by law you will receive the ticket. The fine is $25.00 plus court administrative fees.
