The Delaware Office of Highway Safety participates in several highway safety initiatives throughout the year. Our three major campaigns are Child Passenger Safety Awareness Week, Buckle Up America Week, and Drunk & Drugged Driving (3D) Prevention Month - now known in Delaware as the Safe Family Holiday Campaign.
As much as possible, we try to involve both traditional and non-traditional partners in these highway safety efforts. We are very pleased to work with state and local police agencies throughout Delaware, Emergency Medical Services agencies in each county and at the state level, members of the medical community, the University of Delaware Cooperative Extension, and safety organizations such as Delaware SAFE KIDS, and ENCARE.
We like to take as many pictures as possible at these events (to prove that we were there!) and to record for posterity how much fun we all have working to improve highway safety in the First State. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as we do.
