Through a contractual agreement with the University of Delaware's Cooperative Extension Office, the Office of Highway Safety also provides funding to support two Community Traffic Safety Program (CTSP) Coordinators, Cindy Genau, the New Castle County CTSP Coordinator and Merritt Burke, the Kent/Sussex County CTSP Coordinator.

The CTSP Coordinators are responsible for the development, implementation, and evaluation of programming initiatives at the local level in their respective counties. Their goal, like ours, is to improve highway safety and reduce crashes, injuries and fatalities. Their comprehensive programming initiatives focus on our traffic safety priority areas which include occupant protection, impaired driving, speeding, traffic records, motorcycle safety and pedestrian safety.

They have successfully established and maintained partnerships with agencies in their counties, including law enforcement, schools, hospitals, businesses, fire/EMS, insurance companies, parenting groups, AARP, and safety organizations to name a few.
